Starcraft has shortened to be a clear favourite ahead of Saturday's Group One Cox Plate at Moonee Valley after this morning's barrier draw.

Starcraft has been at or near the top of betting charts since first Cox Plate markets were released several months ago.

The champion four-year-old is available at 5/2 with Super Odds after drawing barrier one. Caulfield Cup winner Elvstroem, is a 7/2 chance after drawing barrier eight.

Of the other chances in the 13-strong field, Savabeel (14/1) drew barrier six while last year's winner Fields of Omagh (15/1) drew barrier seven.
