William Hill have eased Michael Jarvis Rakti out to 5/1 for this months Breeders Cup mile in Texas, after connections indicated he might not run in the $1.5 million contest.
It was believed the classy five-year-old would head to America after returning to winning form with a brilliant victory in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot last month, but owner Gary Tanaka would have to pay a $300,000 supplementary for his horse to run in the race and there are also doubts over his ability to handle the tight track at Lone Star.
If Rakti were to miss the eight-furlong contest, then French raider Six Perfections would almost certainly go off as favourite. The Celtic Swing filly landed this event 12 months ago and is currently a 5/1 chance to repeat the feat.
Further down the list, American gelding Special Ring is offered at 8/1, as is Mark Johnstons Lucky Story, who was last seen chasing home Rakti in the QEII at Ascot.
Whipper and Soviet Song can be backed at 9/1 and 10/1 respectively.
