Michael Owen is Victor Chandler's 15/8 favourite to finish as England's
top scorer at Euro 2004.
The Liverpool hit man has scored 24 goals in 54 England internationals
and, barring injury, will be one of the first names down on coach Sven Goran Eriksson's team sheet for the
opening match against France on June 13.
Owen's hunting partner is likely to be Everton's teenage
prodigy, Wayne Rooney, who became the youngest player ever to score for England when he netted against
Macedonia in qualifying.
Rooney, who has scored 3 goals in 11 England appearances, is 9/2 to finish
as up as his country's top scorer.
Owen and Rooney are a respective 12/1 and 40/1 to finish as the
tournament's top scorer.
England's captain and free-kick specialist David Beckham is chalked up
at 5/1 with former Manchester United team mate Paul Scholes 6/1. Both men have scored 13 goals in an England
shirt.
Chandler quote double figure prices about England's reserve strikers with Emile Heskey and
Darius Vassell both trading at 14/1.
The most prominent recent mover in the firm's outright market
is Italy with the firm's football department cutting the Azzurri from 9/2 to 4/1 after strong support
earlier this week.
France still top the betting at a cast iron 3/1 with Italy, Portugal 6/1, Spain
7/1, Holland 15/2 and England 15/2 next in line.
