Over 10,000 (EUR15,000) was matched on England to win Euro 2004 at odds
of 10.50 on BETDAQ following the announcement of Sven Goran Eriksson's provisional squad for the
tournament. The best odds available now are 10.0 (9/1). Group B rivals France head the market at
odds of 4.60 on the exchange. England are 3.36 (Approximately 12/5) to win their group.
"It
has always been said that England fans will back their team at any price, and while that may still hold true
in the betting shops, there is a greater level of awareness online," according to BETDAQ's Rob
Hartnett. "We have customers from over 150 countries, and the odds on England are now framed by that
group, not by one or two odds compilers who deliberately shy away from big odds on the home teams."
