Bookies William Hill are cheering for outsider Mark to win this weekend's Pop Idol after a massive gamble on Michelle showed no signs of slowing down.
 
Hills have taken bets of up to six thousand pounds - that amount was placed on her at odds of 4/6 in a Crawley betting shop this week -  for Michelle, whose odds have plummeted from 33/1 to 8/15 favourite, while Mark is quoted at 11/8 - one punter staked eight hundred pounds on him on Friday.

'Victory for Michelle will be worth a six figure sum for her supporters' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe,.'So we're cheering on the underdog Mark, who would be a winning result for us.'
