Betting Verdict
2pts New York Jets to beat Oakland Raiders by 1-6 points at 11/2 (Bluesq)

The most attractive match from a betting perspective is Jets/Raiders. Whilst I wouldn`t put anyone off going over 47.5 points, it is hard to make any substantial profit with odds of 10/11. If as expected the match turns into a shootout, the final score should have very little in it. It is possible to get 11/2 for New York Jets to win the game by a margin of 1-6 points. Oakland are a shorter price of 7/2 to win by the same margin. Having watched the Jets a number of times in recent weeks, it is very hard to go against at the moment even though they must travel to Oakland. In the Jets last three matches (Patriots, Packers, Colts), they have scored a staggering 113 points and conceded just 34. Oakland will pose more of a threat offensively and so another Jets blow out is unlikely.

For IG account holders there is a market for each of the four games called the triple whammy match. This market awards 50pts to the team that scores first, 25pts to the team that scores second and 10pts to the team that scores third. The maximum number of points a team can be awarded is 85 (50+25+10). Although the natural assumption is to side with the home team as they are the top seeds., it may pay to side with the visiting franchises. Tennessee, Oakland, Tampa Bay and Philadelphia have all had bye weeks and may have a little rust to shake off. For Tampa and Philadelphia this may be especially so with their starting quarterbacks returning from injury. We also know from last weekend that all the visiting offences are playing well. Stakes should be kept sensible due to the volatile nature of this market.
