SELECTIVE looks the pick of a strong HQ turnout in the William Hill Trophy (3.30) at York this afternoon. Back to six furlongs after being caught close home by the gambled on Aldora over the extra furlong at Goodwood last time, Alec Stewart's charge has impressed in his recent work and won't mind any more rain. Of the opposition, Just James bolted in on fast ground at Newmarket last time but can't be relied on whilst Baldour, Ed Dunlop's hope, is becoming disappointing.

COURAGEOUS DUKE can start making up for lost time in the Micheal Sobell Maiden Stakes (5.35). Unraced as a juvenile, Jeremy Noseda's three-year-old showed his first glimmer of form when fourth to HelloImustbegoing at Newmarket last time and has impressed since.

MEDALLIST can supplement his recent Haydock success, in the opening Royal Bank Of Scotland Handicap (1.30) at Sandown. A game winner over Dryden House in the north west, Sir Michael Stoute's charge should relish today's uphill finish.
The Freemason Lodge handler fields two in the closing June Maiden Stakes (4.55) of which NAVADO looks the pick. His second to stablemate Princely Venture at Haydock last time was no bad effort as that colt is considered a live hope for Royal Ascot next week.

CAMELOT looks a good thing in Division 2 of the Scotby Maiden Stakes (2.45) at Carlisle on Sunday. Luca Cumani has a strike-rate that is second to none at the Cumbria circuit and this three-year-old has been working nicely on the Limekilns of late. Although his form to date is no great shakes, Camelot is expected to come into his own over this stiff nine furlongs.

FUNFAIR can make it third time lucky in Division 1 of the same race (2.45). Sir Michael Stoute's charge has some way to go to emulate his brother Carnival Dancer but has shown some promise in his two outings to date and looked good on the Limekilns on Friday morning.

ISLAND HOUSE can break an annoying sequence in the featured Listed Leicester Mercury Stakes (3.50) at Leicester. Runner-up on his three starts to date, Island House has yet to win over a mile and a half but looked in good heart on the Limekilns on Wednesday morning.

LODGE KEEPER has possibilities in the Property Guide Median Auction Maiden Stakes (2.50). Ed Dunlop has saddled three individual juvenile winners to date and this son of Grand Lodge has shown enough in his recent homework to make the frame here.
