Recent winners for this column.....SMIRK 12-1, SCYTHIAN 4-1, SILENCE IS GOLDEN 6-1, COMPTON COMMANDER 6-1, PLATEAU 4-1, POLAR WAY 4-1, REVIEWER 9-2, MAMOUNIA 12-1

NEEDWOOD BLADE has not run for 91 days but should find his opposition in the Stanley Racing Conditions Stakes (3-25) at Doncaster a grade below him and he is taken to get the weekend off to a good start.

I would love to see Nell Gwyn runner-up MASSARRA do well at sprint distances and this EBF Fillies Conditions Stakes at Newmarket (4-50) should be an easy enough first winning step for her following a good third in a Listed event last time.

Paul Cole is in very good form at present and his PIETER BRUEGHEL is napped to win the Racegoers Club Classified Stakes at Goodwood (5-35). A good winner at Chester last time in a handicap, he showed himself to have a real liking for this specialist's trip of seven furlongs and he loves the fast ground. Champion jockey Kieren Fallon takes the ride and should take the money also.

Barry Hills likes sending out winners at Chester and his LATE CLAIM can take the seven furlong maiden stakes at 2-50 from his low draw. Second at Ayr last time and getting there gradually, this son of King Of Kings can get his head in front here before moving on to better things.

PAGAN DANCE has been a little unlucky not to get his head in front recently but the 4-45 at Newbury can prove third time lucky for him. Seb Sanders will probably just track the leaders and wait for his opportunity to pounce, every chance.
