FIXED ODDS
1pt Liverpool to win 2-0 at 13/2 (Totalbet)
1pt Liverpool to win 3-0 at 9/1 (Totalbet)
Boosted by their impressive win at St. Mary’s on Saturday, Liverpool should be raring to go against the Blades in a game that could make or break their season. Although their opponents came out on top in the first leg and are in excellent form, if the Reds are near the top of their game, they should be able to overturn the 2-1 deficit. Ultimately, Neil Mellor’s away goal at Bramall Lane may prove crucial, since it is hard to imagine the Blades getting much change from Hyypia and Henchoz at Anfield. The Merseysiders’ defence has improved considerably in recent weeks, and they should be able to restrict United to relatively few openings, while making most of their firepower to progress.
SPREAD BETTING
0.25pts Sell time of first Liverpool goal at 40 (Sporting Index)
Expect Liverpool to come flying out of the blocks at Anfield, as they aim to get back on level terms as quickly as possible in the tie. Given the unpleasant circumstances following the first leg, Gerard Houllier will ensure that his boys are fired up and attack from the kick-off. At Southampton on Saturday, the Reds started brilliantly with wave after wave of attack, and we should anticipate much of the same against the Blades. |
