Newmarket plays host to a decent days racing and in the Skybet.com Conditions Stakes, it’s hard to see past Sir Michael Stoutes Sublimity. The Selkirk colt was well supported at Newmarket on his debut, but on that day he hung badly across the track and eventually finished a disappointing fourth behind Ammenayr. However at York two weeks ago, he put that right behind him when racing a long the stand side to thrash the well regarded Fatik by two lengths. Sublimity looks like a horse with a big future and he should have few problems in justifying favouritism today.

Later in the day Wunderwood can maintain his unbeaten run in the Skybetvegas Classified Stakes. The Lady Herries charge has won both his starts on the level this term and was particularly impressive when showing great battling qualities to defy Analyze at Nottingham last time out. The 4 year old is progressing well and this 1m-2f contest should be well within his range.

Bond Diamond (nap) is no stranger to the winner’s circle and the son of Prince Sabo should certainly be backed in the Skybetvegas.com Handicap. The 6 year old won well at Newbury on his seasonal reappearance and has since acquitted himself well in better races. The last of which came at Ascot where he run a cracker in a highly competitive handicap. Sent off at 20/1 the grey struggled to get a run on that day and when the gap did appear he finished late to snatch third place behind Everest. Compensation surely awaits the hard working gelding here.

Over at Catterick the hat trick seeking Stoic Leader is taken to complete the feat in the Lionweld Kennedy Sprint Handicap. The son of Danehill Dancer has won his last two races and further demonstrated his liking for a stiff 5 furlongs when scoring nicely at Hamilton recently. He’s clearly in great nick and looks more than capable of defying a 6lb rise in the weights.

Finally at Bath this evening Henry Cecil is expected to hit the mark with Dawnus in the European Breeders Fund Hamswell Maiden Fillies Stakes. The Night Shift filly has finished second in both her races this term and was only just touched off when well supported at Nottingham recently. A stronger pace will suit her and today could be her day.
